We are delighted that Megan Brown has been awarded the 2020 Toowoomba Diocese Social Justice Award in Roma on Saturday 27th February 2021. The award was presented by Bishop McGuckin, Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Toowoomba.

Megan co-ordinates the “Seeds of Connection” program of community support in the Roma region in partnership with Highways and Byways. Megan is also a business woman in Roma running her yoga and well-being business Soaring Souls. The award acknowledges the significant work Megan has undertaken in respecting the dignity of each person in the community, nurturing just relationships and empowering others.

Megan has run a number of community programs such as seated yoga for seniors, women’s well being groups, community events celebrating NAIDOC week, supporting isolated community members during Covid 19,  and building the confidence and resilience of young people through various programs.

In 2021 Megan, along wIth Program Mentor Jen Coggan, will be running well-being workshops in Injune, Surat, Mitchell and Wallumbilla later in the year.
